Robin's Nest War Relics Guided Tours

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance, two special “Robin's Nest War Relics Guided Tours” are now opened for registration.

Robin’s Nest Country Park locates near Sha Tau Kok. It was was once a border area which retains traces of the War of Resistance. The guided tour will take you through Robin’s Nest and Sha Tau Kok to explore the defence system built during World War II, the Hong Kong Sha Tau Kok Anti-war Memorial Hall, and the Sha Tau Kok Story House located inside the Sha Tau Kok Frontier Closed Area. The tour enabled the participants to understand the War of Resistance from multi-perspectives.

This event is free of charge. If the number of applications exceeds their quota for each session, places will be allocated by balloting. Each applicant can reserve up to two quotas for each session.

Remarks:
  • Part of the tour will hike along trails with stone steps. Participants should apply for activities base on their physical ability.
  • Participants may choose to apply for the Closed Area Permit through our service contractor (copy of participant's identity document is required to be submitted to the contractor) or apply for the permit on their own.
  • As the event will visit the Sha Tau Kok Frontier Closed Area, participants are required to hold a valid Closed Area Permit. If participants fail to present a valid Closed Area Permit on the day of the event, they will not be able to enter the Sha Tau Kok Frontier Closed Area. In such cases, they will need to leave on their own after visiting the Sha Tau Kok War Memorial Hall.

The data will only be accessed by personnel processing the applications for processing application, communication and related purposes. Unless otherwise specified, apart from retaining the name of the participants for record purpose, personal data collected for the event shall be destroyed within six months after the end of the event. For enquiries or amendment to the information provided, please send us a written request (Please quote the activity name or the reference number in the request).)

Application guidelines:
  1. The enrolment period is from 12:00, 7 August 2025 to 23:59, 13 August 2025.
  2. Applicants can apply for more than one session. Each applicant can reserve up to two quotas for each session. Each email can only be registered once for each session.
  3. If the number of applications exceeds the quota for each session, places will be allocated by balloting.
  4. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email within three working days after the application deadline. Unsuccessful applicants will not receive any email.
  5. Please treasure educational resources. If you are unable to attend a confirmed activity, please contact us as soon as possible. Participants who fail to attend the activity without a prior notice may affect their future applications.
Points to note:
  • Please show the confirmation e-mail to our staff for registration on event day.
  • Please arrive on time to the assemble point. Late-comers will not be entertained.
  • Participants should wear outdoor clothing, hiking shoes, and bring along adequate drinking water, personal hiking equipment, sunscreen and rain gear. Please note the finishing time of the activity. You may bring along some snacks if needed.
  • Pay attention to the weather report and forecast on the event day. If the Hong Kong Observatory issues a severe weather warning (including Red/Black Rainstorm Warning or Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above) two hours before the start of the event (i.e. at 7:00 a.m.), the guided tour will be cancelled without prior notice.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to call off or change the itinerary of the event under adverse weather conditions.
  • The Organiser reserves the right to adjust the event content and itinerary.
  • For safety reason, participants are required to follow the guide's arrangement and instructions and should not leave the tour on their own. Please notify the guide if you will leave early.
  • Participants are advised to bring your own water bottle and "Take Your Litter Home" after the tour.
  • Protect country parks, please practice the Green Tips.
  • For your safety, please read the Country Park Hiking Safety Guidelines before the activity.
  • During the event, AFCD may take videos and photos for the purpose of publicity and promotion by the government or the relevant organisations.
