Situated on Mount Parker in Quarry Bay, Woodside Biodiversity Education Centre (also known as Woodside) was converted from the senior staff quarters of the Taikoo Sugar Refinery and was listed as Grade II Historic Building in Hong Kong. The architectural features and interior layout of Woodside, as well as the industrial development in the vicinity of Mount Parker carry important historical and cultural values. Quarry Bay, once a remote area in the late 19th century, had been developed into Company Town in the Island East following the establishment of Taikoo Sugar Refinery and Taikoo Dockyard. Trace of the Company Town can still be seen in the countryside of Mount Parker after a century.
