The Environment and Ecology Bureau and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department launched the Country Park Clean-up Partnership Scheme to encourage the community to nurture a good habit of caring for the countryside, reducing waste and keeping the hiking trails clean. Partner organisations will organise clean-up activities along hiking trails in country parks, and lead participants to pick up litter in keeping the countryside clean.

Target locations

All maintained and managed hiking trails in Country Parks, including Long Distance Trails, Country Trails, Family Walks and Geo Routes etc. Details may be found on the Enjoy Hiking website (https://www.hiking.gov.hk).

Activity period

March 2023 to March 2024

Activity content

Participating organisations will organise trail clean-up activities along designated hiking trails, and guide participants to pick up litter in keeping the countryside clean. Trail clean-up activities may be held as part of an outdoor activity instead of an individual event.

Participating organisations will conduct promotion through social media to raise public awareness of protecting the countryside.

The AFCD can provide the necessary cleansing tools to the participating organisations. Organisations may retain the tools for repeat usage.
